A promenade reimagined for permanent coastal use.
As part of Swansea Council’s landmark regeneration of the Mumbles coastal frontage, MaxiLED supplied a large-scale festoon installation to enhance the new promenade. Designed to elevate the night-time experience while withstanding harsh marine conditions, the lighting plays a key role in transforming the seafront into a vibrant, welcoming destination.
A total of 1.1 km of Large Globe Static festoon was installed at 0.6 m / 2.0 ft spacing, delivering a continuous warm 2700K glow along the widened coastal walkway. The result is a safe, inviting environment that complements the new sea wall, improved accessibility and revitalised public realm.
The MaxiLED Globe Series is IP68 weatherproof, low voltage and supplied with a 5-year warranty — perfectly suited for permanent coastal installations. Built to withstand wind, salt spray and heavy public use, it offers exceptional durability in demanding environments. With an expected lifespan of over 12 years, the system provides long-term reliability with minimal maintenance.
