Description

123 Albion Street is a hub of activity in Leeds city centre. Having just undergone a £5m refurbishment, the commercial building now boasts Grade A offices, balconies and terraces, feature glazing, a newly modelled feature entrance atrium, private reception area and ample onsite parking.

The brief was to create a modern lighting solution in the new atrium area of 123 Albion Street. Having worked closely with owners Merrion to illuminate Leeds shopping centre, MaxiLED RGBW Globes were specified by LITE, the UK partner for MaxiLED. The track system in white was selected to allow it to blend into the ceiling. The MaxiLED Globe, which was bespoke especially for this project, was made with a clear crystal cable, whilst the Ferrall was in silver.

Due to the nature of the low voltage track system which the Globes were wired to, installation was simple, because of the added advantage of being able to move the location of each of the Globe drops whilst onsite, to really meet the clients design request.

A total of seven MaxiLINKs were also used for the project, all within one single universe. Specific mobile elevating work platforms were used for the install as the only way to access 123 Albion Street, was through two double glass doors- a tight squeeze, but the end result is a wonderfully modern illuminated atrium.
